  6. Introduction
  7. ============
  8. DynIP is a unique Internet Service that associates a dynamic IP address
  9. with a static Internet domain name. This allows a given machine to be
  10. referred to (and accessed) by a fixed domain name on the Internet. This
  11. service is particularly useful for dial-up Internet users, who
  12. traditionally get assigned a dynamic IP address when they connect to
  13. the Internet.

  15. The DynIP Server is a dedicated Internet Domain Name (DNS) Server, which
  16. allows its name tables to be dynamically updated by means of DynIP Client
  17. software. This Server, in conjunction with the Client on your computer,
  18. insures that any host on the Internet will be given your current IP
  19. address every time a query for your static name is made.
